Fairground and a Pigeon House

I will be moving out of Chartres in 2weeks so I thought I better start capturing all the areas I like in the city. There are so many beautiful buildings here of medieval and renaissance style.
Down by the river there is an old pigeon house which was probably used when sending mails but now the pigeons just use it to rest. I love where this building is situated by the river surrounded by trees.
I added the paint after, I like the central trees and bushes but I feel like I messed up with the tree on the right.
To celebrate the association’s weekend they put up a fairground in the town centre. While eating some candyfloss (barbe à papa in French meaning daddies beard, I did actually see a child licking the candy floss and sticking it to their chin) I drew the carousel and wheel.
The carousel was difficult to draw as it kept moving (of course) but it was awkward to draw the horses and everything in the background, so I did a minimalist version. To be honest I only like certain aspects of this drawing, like the ticket office and the top of the carousel.
Very nice! I really like the details and after you colored them ^^
Thank you,
I am thinking of other ways to ‘colour’ it by adding different patterns of pen. I saw Paul Heaston’s work and I really like the patterns he put in the sky.

The carousel is amazing, considering how complicated they are and it was moving! Well done.
Thank you for your kind words. It was pretty complicated, but I enjoyed drawing it.
I like very much your style. It is fresh and naif like a child sketch, but have the strenght and sureness of an adult. Good!
Thank you! I really like the coffee cup on your blog, it has an air of naivety like a child too. It is really nice.
Wonderful sketches! I hope you capture a lot more before you have to move!
Thank you, I hope so too. :o)
Very nice, and what a good idea to capture these scenes before you leave! nancy
